Sergeant Edward F. Bachert, Jr.
Sergeant Bachert had been employed by the Allentown Police Department for 20 years until his recent retirement. He joined the Police Department in 1990 and was promoted through ranks holding the rank of Assistant to the Chief of Police / Administrative Sergeant until his retirement. He has diverse experience in Police management, drug and gang investigations, and operations to include assignments in the Tactical Patrol Unit, Community Policing Unit, Emergency Response Team Assistant (HNT) Commander, Academy Instructor, and PLEAC / CALEA Accreditation Manager.
Prior to becoming a Police Officer Sgt. Bachert worked as a Corrections Officer in a maximum security prison, a Juvenile Case Worker and a Corporate Security Officer for a fortune 500 Company. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Kutztown University. Sgt Bachert also holds a Masters degree in Criminal Justice from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where he is currently employed as a faculty member in the Graduate School. He has authored, developed and presented courses for local, state and the federal governments and is a frequent speaker at many National Conferences on Gang Violence, Drug Investigations, Officer Safety, School Violence, Satanism and the Occult and the Impact of Media Violence on Society.
