Craig Price

Craig Price is the Cabinet Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. Secretary Price has oversight of the Highway Patrol, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, the State Fire Marshal, Highway Safety, Victim Services, Accident Records, Driver Licensing, the State Fusion Center, Weights/Measures and State Inspections.

Secretary Price graduated with a bachelor's degree from South Dakota State University in 1996 and began his law enforcement career as a State Trooper with the South Dakota Highway Patrol in 1997.  Prior to his appointment as the Cabinet Secretary of Public Safety, Secretary Price served as the 13th Superintendent of the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a position he held for over 8 years.

Secretary Price is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, is a licensed polygraph examiner, and has held several key positions on various boards, commissions, national and international organizations throughout his law enforcement career. Secretary Price currently serves on the executive board for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

A lifelong resident of South Dakota, Craig and his wife Kami have been married for over twenty years and have two daughters.
