#WhyIWearTheBadge Wednesday – Integrating with Other Campaigns
This post is part of our ongoing #WhyIWearTheBadge Wednesday blog series.
#WhyIWearTheBadge was designed to be a social media campaign that allowed law enforcement agencies all over the world to share stories, photos, and videos that provided a glimpse inside their organization and the individuals who pin on a badge each day. By sharing #WhyIWearTheBadge messages, agencies portrayed the diversity and commitment of their officers and the communities they serve.
As agencies continue to use the #WhyIWearTheBadge hashtag and as the campaign grows and evolves it has become increasingly clear that, as with all aspects of law enforcement, the reasons for wearing the badge do not exist in a vacuum. Officers’ reasons for joining the profession, their motivations, and their passions are directly linked to the work they do each and every day. And so it makes sense that the #WhyIWearTheBadge campaign is being seen more and more intertwined with some other amazing social media campaigns such as #MoveOver, #CopsLoveLemonadeStands, and most recently, #NationalNightOut.Below are just a few examples of how agencies are sending multi-layered messages to their communities using these campaigns.
Please continue to keep your #WhyIWearTheBadge postings coming, and consider expanding your message and reach by integrating the #WhyIWearTheBadge campaign into the other social media campaigns you and your agencies are taking part in.
